This is truly a beautiful day out! We visit picture perfect locations, beautiful landscapes, scenic lakes, monastic ruins, pagan tombs, Ireland's finest city, Kilkenny, and much, much more!

Our day begins as we depart from Dublin and drive up the wonderful Wicklow Mountains.  We pass through Ireland's town, Roundstone, just passed the foot of the beautiful Sugarloaf Mountain and onwards through the beautiful hills and valleys of County Wicklow, fondly known as the Garden of Ireland.

Our first stop of the day is at the beautiful monastic site, founded by St. Kevin, at Glendalough.  Nestled in the valley of two lakes, this enchanting monastic settlement features a round tower, Celtic crosses, and is a mecca for those wishing to see one of the early universities of Christian learning.  We have time to wander about the two lakes and admire its beautiful streams and babbling brooks.  Such is its beauty, Glendalough and its surrounding areas has featured in many recent movies, mainly PS, I Love You and Braveheart.  After a compelling time at this wonderful juncture, we continue our journey through the beautiful countryside of County Wicklow.

Our next stop is Europe's largest ancient burial chamber, the Brownshill Dolmen, dating back to 3000 BC.  Often known as tabletop dolmens, the capstone rests on two portal stones and weighs 100 tonnes.

Moving on, we soon arrive in Kilkenny, known as the city of the cats and once the medieval capital of Ireland.  Extremely picturesque, with colourful buildings, Kilkenny also boasts Ireland's finest castle.  Once the home of the Butler Clan, today one can take a pleasant tour of the castle should they wish.  Those who enjoy cathedrals will enjoy the opportunity to visit the wonderful cathedral of St. Canice, the patron saint of the city.  There are also wonderful eateries and craft shops in Kilkenny, such as Kilkenny Design Store and many more.  In all, we have plenty of time to enjoy this wonderful city, spending between 2 and 2.5 hours at this beautiful and historic fortified city.

We then take the leisurely bus route back to Dublin, arriving at the city centre between 5 and 6 pm.

“We experienced Giant’s Causeway with Ronan today and without doubt, it was the best tour we have ever been on. “RoRo” was a phenomenal guide. He is so knowledgable but also funny and quick-witted. Having such an intimate group in the 16 seat van made all the difference, and we will certainly join you again when we return. Can’t say enough about the tour, the company, and Ronan. Cheers!
