The North has become a must-see for any traveller and lover of Ireland. This tour enables you to focus on Belfast, birthplace of the Titanic, and the little corner of our motherland so ever present in world headlines since 1969 but now experiencing a new dawn.

We begin our tour by heading north out of the city of  Dublin, passing through North County Dublin, renowned as the area of market gardening in  Ireland.  Our first stop is the monastic settlement at Monasterboice, established in the fifth century.  It features Ireland's highest Celtic cross, along with one of its finest and one of the best preserved Celtic crosses.  It also features a real, tenth century round tower used by our forefathers to protect themselves in times of Viking attack.  We hear stories of the island of saints and scholars, as this was also the area where St. Patrick lifted the shamrock and converted the pagan Irish to Christianity.

Our midday arrival in Belfast allows us plenty of time to explore the city.  We can choose a famed Black Taxi tour of the Falls or Shankhill Road areas (optional, £8.50), visiting many of the murals from troubled times.  Other options include a visit to City Hall or the Botanic Gardens.  The Crown Liquor Saloon is Belfast's oldest pub and definitely worth a visit.

Early in the afternoon we depart the city centre and head for the Harland and Wolfe Shipyard area and visit the world renowned Titanic Experience, quickly becoming Ireland's number one visitor attraction- a must see for those travelling to this wonderful city! It brings back to life those who experienced building this amazing yet tragic ship and your entry fee worth €15 is included in the tour price.   You shall never forget this experience and makes for a true highlight on this great day trip.

Our return trip to Dublin is a leisurely drive and allows time to digest all the wonderful experiences of the day.  Belfast is considered one of the ten must see places of the world by Lonely Planet and you shall be thrilled you chose to visit this wonderful city with us! Arrive back in Dublin at approximately 6 pm.

“We experienced Giant’s Causeway with Ronan today and without doubt, it was the best tour we have ever been on. “RoRo” was a phenomenal guide. He is so knowledgable but also funny and quick-witted. Having such an intimate group in the 16 seat van made all the difference, and we will certainly join you again when we return. Can’t say enough about the tour, the company, and Ronan. Cheers!
